About the book
T. S. Chin has outlined several principles that describe ways to achieve goals, win personal battles, help others and set good examples for our children.
At the beginning of each chapter, you will be introduced to each principle, as well as some ancient proverbs and modern philosophies that have guided Chin's writing and his life. Chin says, "Some of these sayings may seem like “common sense,” but I have found that a lot of times, common sense is no longer common. You may have heard these principles before, but I aim to offer a new perspective on them. Each principle is illustrated with experiences from my own life." Chin breaks down a happy life into the following:
H elping: Helping ourselves by helping others is the key to a happy life.
A ttitude: A positive attitude equals opportunity. It will foster positive energy around you, which will lead to success and happiness.
P atience: Patience is your strongest inner power. It is your best tool to conquer fear, obstacles, and challenges. Control when and how to act in order to capture opportunity.
P assion: If you choose a career you are passionate about, you will never work a day in your life. Find your passion and live your life in Paradise.
Y es: A dream and a plan: anything is possible. Yes we can!
L ove: Love is caring and sharing unconditionally, openly, without boundaries.
I mprovement: Improve one step each time and improve one percent each day towards your goal and perfection.
F airness: Life may not be fair to you, but you must be fair in life.
E ducation: Education is the source of knowledge and sharing knowledge creates a positive rippling effect that benefits mankind.
Chin hopes that you can learn from his experiences. About the author
Thick S. Chin is a businessman with his acknowledged share of ups and downs, Chin has lived in Mechanicsville, VA since 1981. He and his wife, Jade, have three children and two grandchildren.
Chin was inspired to write his book after speaking to a group of high school students. The talk was a reflection of his life lessons. But the students' reactions so moved him that he decided to write his book. "They offered me a new mission and higher purpose in life. If I could help the students, then it was my shared responsibility to enrich the lives of others by sharing the message of a happy life."
